I chose a documentary as my film. Here Michael Moore explores all that is wrong with our health care system. His view is shared by so many Americans that he was able to bring some of their experiences into his documentary.
I chose this comic play by one of my favorite composers from the Classical era.
Kids Nowadays (Spoken Word), a poem by Shaunda Yvette, USA

Poem
Kids Nowadays (Spoken Word) I think the message is clear; Problem is kids nowadays just don't care. They have no idea the meaning of culture Because it's society says society do. Mirror images can be deceiving, You too busy emulating what you see on TV, Yea, you cool, so you think. Your future is bright, So smile for the cameras, Lets call this album your mugshot portfolio. Go head follow the fake drug dealers you see on TV. While they on to their next gig, You'll be facing a 25 to life prison bid. Whether murder or drug possession Keep on witcha bad self, You 18, you grown, you got a college degree in pharmaceuticals. A career criminal is what the label you. You must like that. Better yet you must think you're invincible. But didn't you know, the morgues they never close, they never get crowded, Like a CVS pharmacy, open 24/7 As a matter of fact, they welcome you and your family. If they didn't they would be out of business. Do me a favor, go take a good look in the mirror, Look pass the facade and flashy money dancing in ya head, Take a good look, are you happy with what you see? No values, virtues or self esteem Just half ass million dollar pipeline dreams, Reality is, this road leaves to the cemetery or prison. But its not too late to get it straight. First fix ya face then pull up your pants!!!..
This reminded me so much of my kid and his friends that I just had to use this.
Cats is a musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, based on Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot, and produced by Cameron McIntosh.
The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and
the night they make what is known as "the Jellicle choice" and decide
which cat will ascend to the 'Heaviside Lair' and come back to a new life. Cats also introduced the song "Memory".
Directed by Trevor Nunn and choreographed by Gillian Lynne, Cats first opened in the West End in 1981 and then with the same creative team on Broadway in 1982. It won numerous awards, including Best Musical at both the Laurence Olivier Awards and the Tony Awards.
The London production ran for twenty-one years and the Broadway
production ran for eighteen years, both setting new records. Actresses Elaine Paige and Betty Buckley became particularly associated with the musical. One actress, Marlene
Danielle, performed in the Broadway production for its entire run (from
1982 until 2000).

Stunningly lit by night lights, the Basilica San Marco is a superb example of 11th century architecture. Piazza San Marco with the Basilica (1730).

Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Ecstasy of St. Teresa, 1645-52
(Cornaro Chapel, Santa Maria della Vittoria, Rome)
"Beside me, on the left, appeared an angel in bodily form.... He was not tall but short, and very beautiful; and his face was so aflame that he appeared to be one of the highest rank of angels, who seem to be all on fire.... In his hands I saw a great golden spear, and at the iron tip there appeared to be a point of fire. This he plunged into my heart several times so that it penetrated to my entrails. When he pulled it out I felt that he took them with it, and left me utterly consumed by the great love of God. The pain was so severe that it made me utter several moans. The sweetness caused by this intense pain is so extreme that one cannot possibly wish it to cease, nor is one's soul content with anything but God. This is not a physical but a spiritual pain, though the body has some share in it—even a considerable share."
This sculpture has always been one of my favorites. To depict a vision with such vividness as Bernini did with the writings of Saint Teresa was absolutely fascinating to me. It is my dream that someday I will travel to Europe, visit Rome and I will visit the Coronaro Chapel which is also a breathtaking vision in and of itself.
